Figure Drawing
Here's a figure drawing I did last week.
Having been inspired by Marcos Mateu, I thought I would do some figure drawing with a magic marker.
Awesome work, Marcelo! Really solid line work and full of great energy. How did you feel using the marker? I did a session with a sharpie a little while ago, and I really enjoyed it. Beautiful!
This sketch was drawn in five minutes. The Sony figure drawing workshops are taught by Karl Gnass, and he's a proponent of fast sketching. Which means you can check your brain at the door because you won't need it. If you try and think, you'll run out of time; you just have to draw on your instincts.
Tough pose, nice. How long was the pose? Was it on a big pad or sketchbook?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work Marcelo. Once again you pull a masterpiece. I can't make marker look good for life drawing. But you did a great job.

Great textures and lively line work. Top notch, Mo. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThis drawing that has a very CLASSY look...Gnass is an awesome instrutor. Pure, raw animal instinct.
ReplyDeleteHow often do you take classes at the Union? Or where did you take a class with Gnass? (Can you tell I'm a poet haha)
cheers
Leonardo, I've never taken classes at the Union. Karl Gnass comes to Sony every Wednesday to teach at the studio. I sit in on his workshop here.
