Sketchclub Sketchbook Page

I rarely post my sketchbook drawings during our Sketchclub lunches, rather we typically post our memory drawings at sketchclub.blogspot instead. So, here is a page from my sketchbook during one of these Sketchclub outings.

A whole bunch of us had gone to the local skatepark and drew some of the kids there. Ya gotta draw fast to get these weightless action poses! They're more like gesture drawings.

Those are great! I know how fast those guys move - you did a great job capturing the feel and movement.

I love how the boards have that retro feel to them. Lords of dogtown era. Great job.

Really nice fluidity--homeboy in the red hat is wicked awesome.

These are fantastic! you really do have to draw fast. I was out at a small festival here in Ontario trying to draw people as they past me by...That was tough enough, never mind them skating past you at what would seem like a flash! Awesome stuff.

Thanks everyone.

Yep, they're moving pretty fast Jeremy and Jason. They're kinda like gesture drawings, with a little more detail.

Garrett, I guess I'm showing my age.

Anthony, that's one of the things about drawing skate boarders, it's all about the fluidity.

Mark, it's funny you should use that word, 'cause that's what I'm doing. I'm getting a mental snapshot.

We miss you Marcos.

Thanks Henry, Billy, Ivan, Ghetto, Nathan and A. Riabovitchev.

B Roy, that's the trick. Practice-practice-practice.

Josh, they're just markers. Nothing fancy like inks or dyes.

Hans, see you soon.
