reMIND, great comic by Jason Brubaker

When I was at the San Diego Comic Con I picked up Jason Brubaker's reMind, it has to be one of the freshest comics I've seen in a very long time. Jason's artwork and page layout are a refreshing cold glass of water in a tepid sea of status quo comics.

Jason Brubaker has the entire reMIND comic book posted on-line, but I suggest having a look, and then buying this comic. Even his approach to advertising his comic book is unconventional, he'll let you read the entire comic.

I'm sorry to hear the Con was status quo. I didn't go, but it's always sad to see the comics industry not doing anything original.

Interesting. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the suggestion, although it's at an odd time while I'm moving and I told myself, "no more acquiring new stuff for a while." Either way, I look forward to seeing it.

well that was easy to get sucked into. Nice recomendation! great story and I'm fascinated by the textures he uses. It's so nice to find webcomics and graphic novels that have good art and good story.

Michael, I guess I should clarify, the entire comic book convention is not all status quo, there were several independent comic books being created that I really enjoyed and picked up. Unfortunately, the vast majority are status quo. I have to put Jason's comic book at the top of the heap.

Mauricio, hah! I've told myself the same thing. The older I get, the more picky I am about what I buy -- for just that reason. But, every now and then a comic book comes around that twists my arm.

Erika, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's hard to get a combination of good art, good story, and a fresh approach. Jason's reMIND has it.

I enjoyed your post. It’s a lot like college – we should absorb everything we can but ultimately you need to take what you’ve learned and apply it.
