Another Faerie Doodle

Here's another doodle I found while cleaning my office. I thought it went nicely with the other faerie drawing I did, so I decided to post it. I was lazy, and didn't finish the wings -- but that's the beauty of doodles.

I went ahead and Photoshopped in some nice manilla paper, some texture, and some text, but the drawing is untouched and is as it appears on my paper. It was originally drawn in graphite, along with graphite smudges.

I normally draw with a piece of paper under my hand to keep me from smudging my artwork, and this doodle was drawn on that paper, that's why there are so many graphite smudges alongside the drawing.

Disney should make their fairies this beautiful! Very well handled as always my friend. Very inspiring.

'See, I -told- you that painting the cows pink and purple would not go over well with Mab...now I'll just watch as you get chased by an irate crow, mmmm?' *dryly*

She's LOVELY, Marcelo!

Beautiful sketch Marcelo, such elegant lines!

*snickers* Marcelo, the cows are pink and purple only because the expression on your lovely little fae's face seems to indicate something as bizarre as that...

Thanks for dropping by! SO good to see your work!

very elegant! i love how you sharpened her nose and chin. i agree with you on your comments about doodling. very important! i keep a giant block of wee post-its on my desk and whenever something meanders through the my skull's lobby, i do a quick sketch on the post-it. it's a great break from whatever task i'm currently slugging through and keeps my mind wandering. cheers marcelo!

Nice Fairie! Besides the paper under your hand, how else do you avoid smudges? Did you hear about this new glove that protects you from smudging your work called SmudgeGuard? I read good reviews about it.

Thanks EVERYBODY for all your wonderful comments. You are all too kind.

Patrick, that is blasphemy ... but I'll take the compliment.

Yes, Marcos, I do need to clean my office out more often. I end up with archeological layers of drawings. The deeper you go into my piles of paper, the older the drawings get. Some of my older drawings were done on papyrus!

Anonymous, I have tried drawing with an animation glove, but then I ended up drawing with a piece of paper under my hand anyway so I could doodle. Also, the glove may keep my hand clean, but it still smeared my drawings.

Big Moe! Great little sketches! I agree about playing around and doodling for fun. I don't wanna be one of those guys who only draw because they have to for work. We should never lose the capacity for play.
