Figure Drawing in Pen

I'm back, sorry for the delay in posting.

This has been a sad summer. My father-in-law lost his battle with cancer a couple weeks back. Most of this summer had been dedicated to him, as my wife made frequent visits with him (as well as the whole family). We knew his cancer was terminal, and so we tried to soak up as much as we could before it was his time to be with our Lord.

He was a loving family man, a Christian, and a playful grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

Thank you for sharing that part of your life with us. It's good to hear you got to spend a lot of time together before he had to move on. Sounds like a tough summer.

The figure drawing reminds me of the Savior when he was scourged before being presented to Jerusalem. That twisting torso and the strained arms are beautiful.

I am truly sorry to hear about your loss, although I only know you by looking at your art, I can truly understand and imagine the hole and pain you guys will be missing from your hearts.I recently lost a 3month year old niece do to Sudden Infant Death. So I am still in grieving mode. The most I can do is be there for my sister. So be there for the ones you love.-Omar
P.S. Will always admire your art.

My deepest symphaties to you and Sherrie and the kids, my friend. I know how it feels since I lost my dad a year ago in a similar situation. But on a brighter note, it's comforting to know that he knows the Lord and we have that hope to see him again on that day.

Marcelo, it's a sad and terrible loss indeed. I'm glad you had the summer with him, bitter-sweet to be sure, but hopefully a precious time. Really reminds one to make the best of our relationships while we can. All the best to you and your family.
