CALLING ALL BLOGGERS
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS PUMPKIN BOY?
I'm in a bind, we bought this 30" or 36" pumpkin plush holiday decoration a couple years ago. My daughter loved it -- unfortunately a few months back we lost "Pumpkin Boy" in a flood we had at the house.
(I know-I know, first flood, then fire. What could we do? We're due for frogs and locus at any moment.)
Thing is, I would like to replace this decoration. If you have seen one at a store, or you have bought one, or your neighbor has one, I would like to buy it from you. I don't care if it's a little worn around the edges.
If you spot one on E-bay, let me know. I keep checking, but I haven't found one yet.

I think you should try making one. :)
Marcelo,
The closest I've found is this:

...but that's not quite what you're looking for, I know. It's nowhere near tall enough, for one. I'll hunt around a bit more and maybe I might strike it lucky! Do you remember where you bought it, by the way? It'd help narrow down searching options...

Sorry Marcelo , can't help you on this one.
Nevertheless I had an idea that might come in handy for you in the future. Try to have the fire and the flood on the same day next time (and in this very order), see what I'm saying?
Your welcome!
Marmax, yes, that seems to be where I'm leaning. I've been looking, and I don't think I'm going to find one. I'm getting desperate, hence the posting on my blog.
Shuku, thanks for the tip. I followed the link, and I have to buy those dolls in bulk from China. I appreciate your keeping an eye out for Pumpkin Boy.
I bought the little scarecrow decoration three years ago at Rite Aid. This store doesn't keep a list of their distributers, so they were no help at all.
Marcos -- hmm, you may have a point there. "Yo, RESPECK!"
sorry buddy, !'m also looking for a pumpkin myself! have a great treat or tricking with your kids! ;)
saludo.
That looks like my neighbor...oh wait...no, he's taller. Sorry, Moe.
You're helarious, and a good dad, by the way. I'll check the local flea markets!!! (do you think your daughter would notice if it were mostly similar to the original?)
PUMPKIN BOY UPDATE:
My good friend Kelle has agreed to make Pumpkin Boy's head and hands. So, at this very moment, his dismembered parts are traveling in the mail.
When I put Pumpkin Boy put together, I'll get a snapshot and post it.
Oooh definitely looking forward to see Pumpkin Boy! So glad you've found a way to have him back again.
Taylor, I drew that the old fashioned way, by hand.
I had started manipulating my hand drawn images for Disney in Photoshop, but I would have to periodically send in my original artwork to them. When a "Making Of Book" came out with my undigitized/manipulated art in it, I realized I had to keep the two separate.
Thanks for the question, I'll talk a little more about my technique later on.
